I recommend Alfredo to anyone that needs major body work due to injury or just being athletic. I have had many massages by several other people, but Alfredo took the time to understand my injuries and he's strong enough to get into the deep muscles. If you are a male athlete and you need major muscles worked on, then I recommend this Marine. He gets the demons out!

Joe

I received for my birthday a massage from Empowered Body Works from my girlfriend. As this was my first time ever getting a professional massage, I did not know what to expect. Alfredo made it very clear what he was going to do and the significance behind it. Alfredo is so knowledgeable at his craft. I appreciated his professionalism along with his ability to make me feel at ease. If you are thinking of getting some work done, I highly recommend it with Alfredo! I not only came out of my appointment feeling new but also learned some insightful things to be more efficient with my body mechanics.

Luis

I have been getting massages for around 20 years and my first massage with Alfredo was beyond my expectations. I have to say it was probably one of the best I've ever received. He is courteous, kind, listens to your needs and respectful. I couldn't recommend him highly enough. It's hard to find a good body worker and when you do, never let them go!

Emily

I would recommend Alfredo Rosales as a professional in Massage Therapy. If you want a ‘rub down’ he may not be the best; serious medical/therapy massage is his specialty, and it is not painless; the after ‘glow’ is worth the deep tissue massage.

George

Alfredo is absolutely phenomenal at therapeutic deep tissue sports massage! I love how knowledgeable and professional he is. He took the time to listen to what I needed and really targeted my problem areas. If you are looking for a masseuse that actually makes a difference in how you feel and truly cares about his clients, go see Alfredo! He is simply the best!

About Empowered Bodywork

At Empowered Bodywork, we believe healing is not one-size-fits-all. We are a veteran-owned massage therapy practice specializing in therapeutic bodywork that is both detail-oriented and client-directed. Our mission is simple: to help every client recover, thrive, and live pain-free.

We use an integrative approach rooted in evidence-based techniques—such as cupping therapy, medical massage, deep tissue, and sports massage—to target pain, restore movement, and enhance performance. Rather than chasing symptoms, we focus on identifying and treating the root cause of discomfort. Our goal is to support long-term solutions that reduce reliance on surgery or medications, and instead promote self-healing, resilience, and strength from within.

We are committed to fostering a deeper mind-body connection, empowering our clients to move with more freedom, clarity, and confidence. Education is a core part of our process: we take time to teach body awareness, explain common pain patterns, and equip clients with the tools they need to better care for themselves outside the treatment room.

As our practice grows, so does our vision—to create a space where individuals feel supported, understood, and empowered to take charge of their wellness journey. Through compassionate care and a deep understanding of human anatomy, we aim to be a trusted partner in your path toward healing and whole-body wellness.

Meet Your Therapist

Alfredo Rosales, Jr.

I’m an avid explorer — driven by curiosity, gratitude, and a deep commitment to living with purpose. My path, from competing as an athlete to serving in the United States Marine Corps, has been shaped by a pursuit of excellence and a belief that every challenge presents an opportunity to grow. One of the questions I asked my Marines still guides me today: “How do you want to be remembered?”

At Empowered Bodywork, honor isn’t just a word — it’s a way of showing up: on time, with full intention, and presence for the person in front of me. I understand that clients are trusting me with their pain and their process — and I don’t take that lightly. That trust is sacred.

The healing power of touch, paired with the body’s natural ability to restore itself, is what fuels my work. Every session is rooted in strength — not just physical strength, but the strength to listen, to stay consistent, and to hold space for someone’s healing.

I bring a student mindset to my practice, always learning, refining, and exploring new techniques, such as Graston (IASTM), cupping, and more. No two bodies are the same. Each session is tailored to support your goals, your function, and your overall well-being.

My father, a hardworking man who juggled multiple jobs, remains a personal inspiration. Watching how labor wore on his body is what called me to this work — to help others avoid chronic pain and feel empowered in their health journey. Everyone deserves to live with less pain and more purpose.

Outside the office, I stay rooted through training, cooking, and time outdoors. Lifting grounds me — body and mind. Cooking is where I find creativity and connection. Being in nature — hiking 14ers, off-grid camping, and soaking in hot springs under the stars — helps me reset. I also treasure time with good people: family, friends, music, and shared stories that keep me present and grateful.

What training and experience do you have?

Alfredo has been a licensed massage therapist since 2021. Below is a chronological overview of his certifications and training, showcasing his commitment to mastering his craft:

  • 2021: Completed 750 hours of training at IntelliTec College in Grand Junction, CO, and passed the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEX).
  • 2022: Trained in Medical Massage techniques at the LMT Success Group in Las Vegas, NV.
  • 2023: Earned a certification in Cupping Therapy from the International Cupping Therapy Association, Colorado Springs, CO.
  • 2024: Studied Orthopedic Massage and Manual Therapy at The Center for Pain Management in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX.
  • 2025: Essential Graston technique, Denver, CO

These experiences, and forthcoming training and certifications, reflect my dedication to delivering intentional and effective bodywork solutions tailored to each client’s needs.

Empowered Bodywork offers a range of therapeutic and clinical massage services tailored to meet your specific needs. Whether you’re looking for deep relief, recovery support, or nervous system reset, I offer modalities like Therapeutic Bodywork, Sports Massage, Orthopedic Massage, Cupping Therapy, and the Graston Technique (IASTM). I also provide specialized sessions including Hot Stone Massage, Integrated Thermotherapy, Colon-Focused Cupping, and our signature CBD Melt Experience.

Each session is designed with intention—whether it’s for pain management, performance, postural correction, or stress relief. You can find full details and pricing in the Services section.

At Empowered Bodywork, I specialize in advanced techniques that go beyond relaxation—each one is chosen with purpose to address pain, restore mobility, and optimize performance. My training allows me to work in both clinical and athletic environments, supporting clients who need results. Here’s what sets my work apart:

Cupping Therapy: I use both stationary and dynamic cupping to lift and decompress tight tissue, improve circulation, and reduce stagnation. This technique is especially effective for chronic tension, limited range of motion, and postural issues. It’s a staple in my practice because it delivers fast, lasting relief.

Graston Technique (IASTM): This evidence-based modality uses stainless steel tools to treat scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and overuse injuries. It’s commonly used by physical therapists—and as a licensed massage therapist, I’m trained and qualified to provide it safely and effectively. Graston helps remodel soft tissue, strengthen tendons and ligaments, and enhance function. It’s ideal for athletes, post-surgery recovery, and chronic pain conditions.

Colon-Focused Cupping: This unique approach supports digestive wellness by targeting the abdomen to reduce bloating, support motility, and release fascial tension in the gut. It’s paired with neck work to calm the nervous system. Many clients are surprised by how much lighter and clearer they feel after just one session.

Orthopedic & Clinical Massage: I integrate orthopedic techniques to assess and address specific musculoskeletal issues. This includes working with joint dysfunction, nerve entrapments, and movement impairments. These sessions are structured, precise, and goal-driven—ideal for clients dealing with pain that hasn’t resolved through traditional massage.

Sports Massage: For active individuals and athletes, I offer targeted sports massage to enhance performance, reduce injury risk, and support recovery. This includes pre-event warm-up work, post-event flushing, and ongoing maintenance to keep the body moving at its best.

What makes Empowered Bodywork different is the ability to blend these techniques based on what your body needs. Every session is personalized, rooted in strong clinical reasoning, and delivered with intention. Whether you’re an athlete, recovering from injury, or simply ready to feel better in your body, I bring the tools and mindset to help you reach your goals.

Graston Technique® is a form of IASTM, which stands for Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. That might sound complex, but here’s the simple breakdown:

Instead of using hands only, IASTM involves the use of specially designed stainless steel tools to gently glide over the skin. These tools help detect and treat areas where the tissue (like muscles, fascia, or tendons) may be tight, restricted, or inflamed.

Imagine it like this:
Just like a foam roller or massage ball can help release knots, these tools allow your therapist to go deeper and more precisely into specific areas that need attention. They help break up scar tissue, improve blood flow, and encourage your body to heal more efficiently.

At Empowered Bodywork, we use Graston Technique® to support recovery from injuries, reduce chronic tension, and restore healthy movement patterns. Whether you’re an athlete, recovering from surgery, or just tired of that nagging tight spot, IASTM might be exactly what your body needs.

Most people seek Empowered Bodywork because they’re dealing with chronic pain, restricted mobility, or stubborn tension that hasn’t responded to typical massage or treatments. Whether it’s neck and shoulder tightness from desk work, low back pain, joint discomfort, or postural strain, I specialize in helping clients move and feel better through therapeutic, orthopedic-based bodywork.

My approach is detailed and rooted in techniques like orthopedic massage, sports massage, and cupping—methods that go beyond relaxation to address the root of the issue. For more complex or persistent conditions, modalities like the Graston Technique (IASTM) are used to break up adhesions, restore tissue function, and support long-term relief. Even difficult, long-standing problems can often be improved when we treat the body with clinical precision and consistency.

If you’re ready to stop chasing temporary fixes, this is the kind of bodywork that meets you where you are—and helps you move forward.

In addition to promoting overall wellness, clients often seek massage therapy to address specific concerns related to physical strain, injury, or chronic discomfort. At Empowered Bodywork, we commonly support:

  • Post-surgical recovery: Enhances circulation, reduces scar tissue formation, and restores mobility through targeted manual therapy.
  • Surgical prevention: Early intervention with soft tissue work can improve alignment and function—often helping clients avoid more invasive options.
  • Chronic pain management: Identifies underlying causes of pain, supports natural healing, and offers an alternative to pharmaceutical reliance.
  • Mobility limitations: Releases muscular tension, improves joint range of motion, and encourages smooth, fluid movement.
  • Athlete recovery and performance: Reduces fatigue, aids muscle repair, and supports long-term physical performance.
  • Nerve-related symptoms: Gentle, precise work helps relieve numbness or tingling caused by nerve compression or entrapment.
  • Scar tissue management: Breaks down adhesions to restore elasticity, function, and comfort in injured areas.

With these and other concerns, we’ve seen time and time again how tailored massage therapy can incrementally and dramatically improve clients’ quality of life. When you’re ready to experience the benefits of massage therapy, schedule your appointment online.

Yes — massage therapy can be a powerful tool for improving sleep quality. By reducing stress hormones like cortisol and increasing feel-good neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, massage helps calm the nervous system and promote deeper relaxation. It also helps release physical tension that may be keeping your body in a state of fight-or-flight, especially in the neck, shoulders, and back.

At Empowered Bodywork, sessions are designed to support both the physical and mental reset your body needs to rest more deeply. Whether you’re dealing with insomnia, chronic pain, or high stress, therapeutic bodywork can help your body remember what true rest feels like.

Better sleep starts with restoring balance — and that begins on the table.

Before your session, stay well-hydrated and avoid alcohol or recreational drugs, as these can interfere with your body’s ability to process therapeutic work. Eat a light, balanced meal—not too heavy, not too empty. Please shower before your appointment and skip heavy lotions or perfumes, which can affect grip and technique.

Avoid working out 30 to 60 minutes before your session, as this can increase muscular tension and reduce effectiveness. Likewise, plan for a relaxed day afterward. Exercising immediately after may lead to injury or undo the work that was performed.

Wear comfortable clothing and arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in, use the restroom, or complete any paperwork, especially if it’s your first visit. Afterwards, you may arrive 5-10 minutes early.

Lastly, come with an open mind and a willingness to communicate your goals, tension patterns, or any changes in your health. The more we know, the more precisely we can help.

At Empowered Bodywork, each session is fully personalized to meet your individual needs—whether you’re seeking pain relief, increased mobility, stress reduction, or all of the above.

We begin with a thoughtful intake conversation to review your goals, medical history, and any areas of concern. If it’s your first visit, it’s especially helpful to share everything you’re experiencing—even if issues seem unrelated, they’re often connected. This dialogue ensures the session is strategic and effective.

During your treatment, a range of techniques may be used depending on your goals—this could include deep tissue, orthopedic massage, sports massage, cupping therapy, Graston Technique (IASTM), or gentle relaxation methods. You may be asked to participate in guided movement or breathwork when appropriate. Open communication is always welcome to make sure pressure, pace, and techniques are working for you.

The environment is designed for your comfort—quiet and calming or conversational and interactive, depending on what helps you feel most at ease. Every detail is meant to support your physical and emotional well-being.

Once the session is over, your therapist may offer suggestions, like stretches or exercises, to help you maintain the benefits of the massage between visits. We can also discuss how you’re feeling and any adjustments for future appointments. The goal is to not only address your immediate concerns but to work with you toward long-term wellness.

After your session, it’s normal to feel relaxed, lighter, and more in tune with your body. Some people experience immediate relief, while others may feel subtle shifts that continue to improve over the next 24–72 hours as the body adjusts.

You may notice increased mobility, reduced pain, or a sense of mental clarity. Mild soreness can occur—especially after deep tissue work or techniques like cupping or Graston—but this is temporary and part of your body’s natural healing response.

To maximize the benefits of your session:

  • Stay hydrated to help flush out metabolic waste.
  • Avoid intense exercise for the rest of the day—let your body integrate the work. Deeper work may require two days until training can be run at full strength.
  • Honor your body’s signals — rest if needed and avoid extreme temperature changes right after the session.

At the end of your appointment, we may suggest gentle stretches, self-care tips, or a plan for follow-up sessions depending on your goals. Every session builds on the last, and continued care can create deeper, lasting change.

Yes, I proudly offer 15% off Therapeutic Bodywork sessions to both active-duty service members and fellow veterans. This is my way of honoring the military community for your service, sacrifice, and strength.
